Creating Safe Spaces

Building Gender Transformative Safe Spaces that empower adolescents and youth.

Unlocking Agency

Through critical knowledge and feminist leadership, we help girls and women become change makers.

Breaking Oppression

We challenge intergenerational oppression, enabling women to take charge of their futures.

Thriving Together

We foster an ecosystem where girls and women lead change in their families and communities.

Potential

1. Potential

Why the time is right for a girl-led future in India?

Every 1 in 5 people in India is 10 to 19 years old.
India is one of the fastest growing economies and it plans to accelerate that by focusing on women-led development.

Why we can’t be women-led in the future without being girl-led now?

Challenge

2. Challenge

What is the main barrier for a girl?

An adolescent girl’s life changes completely post puberty
Her family burdens her with social roles passed on from generations. Quitting school to take care of the house is the first step down the spiral of inter-generation oppression.

How can girls escape the spiral of intergenerational oppression?

Right Image
Solution

3. Solution

What impact can a gender transformative safe space have?

Adolescent girls in India are deprived of knowledge that can help them make better life decisions
A VOICE classroom is a safe and inclusive space where girls learn critical knowledge and skills through discovery and activity based learning.

What effect does GTSS have on a girl, a school and the whole community?

Right Image
Effect

4. Effect

What happens when a girl or women finds her voice?

When a girl finds her VOICE, the world around her changes.
It’s a ripple effect of young change-makers who go into the community to share knowledge and empower others who need it.

By breaking intergenerational oppression and creating safe spaces we help adolescents take charge of their futures, and become changemakers.
